By joining our Professional Development Branch as a Training Development Specialist II in Franklin County, youwill have the opportunity to guide the professional development of over 4,000 cabinet employees, fostering aculture of continuous growth and learning. This position plays a key role in the design, implementation, andfacilitation of training programs that empower individuals to excel by providing them with the tools,training, and mentorship needed for success. From day one through retirement day, you'll guide employees atevery stage of their career.

Holders of the Training Development Specialist II position will complete tasks such as: Research for and develop training curricula, lesson plans, and other course materials for specializedtraining courses, using a variety of presentation techniques such as lecture, group discussion, demonstration,teambuilding activities, and role playing. Design creative and professional multimedia presentations to assist in course facilitation. Conduct/deliver training courses on a regular basis and administers assigned training programs. Design evaluation and assessment instruments of training courses. Ideal candidate will have experience in:

Competency in course design, especially in the areas of curriculum and lesson plan development Experience in public speaking and facilitating professional development training for adult learning audiences Proficiency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, PowerPoint, and Excel Online training software, including but not limited to Adobe Connect, Adobe Captivate, and Articulate360 forvirtual classroom delivery and creating interactive e-learning content. Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of professional experience in planning, coordinating, or conducting staff development and training courses, personnel administration or teaching, or professional experience in providing or administering human services or governmental programs.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: Graduate study in psychometrics, industrial relations, psychology, statistics, education, or a related field will substitute for the required experience on a year-for-year basis.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in the above areas will substitute for the required education on the basis of one year of experience for two years of education. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.

Working Conditions

Incumbents working in this job title perform duties in an office setting. Occasional travel may be required.

Probationary Period

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
