• Location: Hazel Crest, Illinois 60429 (Chicago metro area)
• Job Title: Endoscopy Registered Nurse (RN) – Locum Tenens
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Healthcare Setting: GI Services / Endoscopy Unit
• Shift: 8-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 40
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/17/2026)
• Weekend Rotation: Every other Saturday
• Holiday Coverage: Rotating holidays (summer and winter)

Endoscopy RN Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications (American Heart Association)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Endoscopy RN experience in GI Services or Endoscopy Unit
• Proficient in ERCP, upper/lower endoscopy, EUS, SpyGlass procedures
• EPIC charting experience required
• Pre and post-procedure nursing experience
• Ability to circulate and scrub basic tech cases
• Telemetry experience preferred
• First-time travel nurses considered

Endoscopy RN Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, effective nursing care for patients undergoing endoscopic and minor operative procedures
• Prepare patients for GI procedures and monitor during moderate sedation
• Recover patients post-procedure, ensuring comfort and safety
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams including charge nurses, phlebotomy, and resource nurses
• Utilize EPIC for accurate documentation and patient management
• Maintain ASPN patient ratio guidelines
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
• Adhere to infection control and safety protocols (no artificial nails, proper scrub color)
