• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (travel nursing contract)
• Location: Springfield, Illinois (62781)
• Facility: Acute Care Hospital, Magnet-designated, Level I trauma center
• Duration: 16-26 weeks
• Shift: 5x8-hour day shifts (06:45 - 15:15)
• Hours per Week: 40
• Weekend Requirement: 1 weekend per month
• On-Call: Yes, typically 1 per week (frequency may vary)
• Scrub Color: Provided
• Charting System: Cerner EMR
• Parking: Free with permit
• Estimated Weekly Pay: $2450 - $2510

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (or in application process)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience in a hospital setting
• Level I trauma center experience required
• Comprehensive experience in general OR, trauma, bariatric, general surgery, neurology, orthopedic, plastic, transplant, and urology cases
• Proficiency in emergency management and surgical equipment/instrumentation
• BLS certification required (AHA or Red Cross)
• CNOR and CST certifications preferred
• Prior travel nurse experience required
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility
• Cerner charting experience preferred
• Ability to float within skill set to other units or affiliate hospitals
• First-time travelers not accepted

OR RN Responsibilities

• Deliver perioperative nursing care for a wide variety of surgical procedures (excluding cardiovascular)
• Demonstrate clinical expertise in trauma, general surgery, neurology, orthopedics, plastics, transplant, urology, and emergency management
• Operate advanced surgical equipment, including electrosurgical units, fiber optic light sources, and Hana tables
• Administer blood products, uphold infection control standards, and maintain radiation safety protocols
• Ensure accurate specimen labeling and adherence to universal protocol procedures
• Participate in on-call rotation and scheduled weekend coverage
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to provide high-quality patient care
• Float to other units or affiliate hospitals within your clinical skill set as needed
