• Facility: Pediatric Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (PCICU), Gold Beacon Award-winning unit
• Employment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nurse Contract
• Start Date: October 20, 2025
• End Date: January 19, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Rotating 12-hour shifts (Days: 7:00am–7:30pm & Nights: 7:00pm–7:30am), 3 shifts/week
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend/Holiday: 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule; holiday rotation required
• Unit Size: 29 beds; average daily census 26
• Patient Ratios: 1:1 or 1:2, based on acuity
• Charting System: EPIC

• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,880–$2,020

PICU RN Qualifications

• Active South Carolina or Multi-State/Compact Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license with proof of application accepted)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Pediatric Cardiac ICU (PCICU) nursing experience
• Experience with cardiovascular and pediatric patients required
• Ventricular Assist Device (VAD) experience highly preferred
• First-time travel nurses welcome
• Certifications: BLS and PALS (American Heart Association required); ACLS preferred (AHA only)
• Ability to float to NICU, PICU, and Pediatric Stepdown units as needed
• Must complete facility compliance and orientation requirements

PICU RN Responsibilities

• Provide expert nursing care to pediatric patients with congenital and acquired cardiac conditions
• Manage post-cardiac surgery, VAD, ECMO, CRRT, and heart transplant patients
• Assist with cardiac procedures and deliver ventilatory and cardiac support therapies
• Monitor and respond to patient condition changes using advanced hemodynamic monitoring
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams, including respiratory therapists, dietitians, pharmacists, and ancillary staff
• Float to related pediatric units (NICU, PICU, Pediatric Stepdown) as needed
• Participate in scheduled weekend and holiday rotations
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation using EPIC
