Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Sun City West, Arizona. You will provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units, with frequent monitoring and specialized interventions.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Essential Work Functions

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; responds to abnormalities
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and assists during cardiac-related procedures and examinations
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety of telemetry patients
• Observes patient conditions, documents findings, and notifies supervisor or physician of status
• Responds to life-saving situations per nursing standards, policies, and protocols
• Documents nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle factors
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for comprehensive care
• Maintains patient and client confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adheres to safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and English
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
• Physical ability to remain stationary and move equipment; push/pull and bend as needed
• Effective collaboration with a variety of personnel
• Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and operate equipment
• Mental ability to handle deadlines, irregular schedules, and detail-oriented work
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
