Job Details

Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Prescott, AZ. This position offers competitive pay, comprehensive benefits, and a supportive clinical team.

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
• Current valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
• Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)

Preferred Qualifications

• Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
• NIHSS Certification
• Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position

Summary

A Stepdown Registered Nurse provides care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units. These patients require frequent monitoring and specialized nursing interventions. They assess and manage complex patient needs, administer medications and treatments, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, patient-centered care.

Essential Work Functions

• Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; responds to abnormalities
• Administers prescribed medications and treatments with a focus on cardiac care
• Prepares equipment and aids physicians during cardiac-related procedures
• Maintains awareness of comfort and safety needs of telemetry patients
• Observes patient, documents significant conditions, and notifies supervisor or physician of status and response
• Responds to life-saving situations following nursing standards and protocols
• Documents nursing history and physical assessment for telemetry patients
• Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and lifestyle modifications
• Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team for comprehensive telemetry patient care
• Maintains patient and client confidentiality
• Performs other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
• Adheres to hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Proficient in reading, writing, and English communication
• Ability to read and follow written and verbal instructions; PC skills
• Physical ability to remain stationary and move equipment; lift 50-100 lbs; push/pull and bend
• Interpersonal skills to work with a variety of personnel
• Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and equipment
• Mental ability to work under pressure, with occasional supervision and irregular schedules
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
