Pediatric RN Details

• Location: Brownsville, TX 78526
• Facility Setting: Pediatric Unit (10 beds)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing
• Contract Length: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Shift: 7:00 AM – 7:00 PM, 12-hour day shifts
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,460-$1,500
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech
• Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs

Pediatric RN Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Texas RN license preferred)
• Minimum 1 year of recent pediatric nursing experience
• Current PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• Current BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support) certification
• Proficiency in IV therapy, respiratory care, lumbar puncture assistance, and clinical assessment of newborn and pediatric patients
• Strong communication, compassion, and clinical confidence
• Ability to float to the Newborn Nursery as needed

Pediatric RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality, compassionate nursing care to pediatric patients in a 10-bed unit
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, administer medications, and perform pediatric treatments
• Assist with pediatric procedures including lumbar punctures, IV insertions, and surgical wound care
• Utilize EKG monitors, nasal cannulas, and vital sign machines
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain a positive, energetic, and team-oriented attitude
• Float to the Newborn Nursery as required
