ER RN Job Details – Illinois Healthcare Jobs

• Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
• Location: Freeport, Illinois 61032
• Healthcare Setting: Acute Care – Emergency Department (24 beds)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/6/2025 – End: 1/5/2026)
• Nursing Shift: 12 Hour Nights
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 per week
• Orientation: 2 shifts (12 hours each)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1950-$2090

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license (required for Illinois nursing jobs)
• Minimum 3 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS or ENPC, TNS or TNCC, NIHSS
• Proficiency in moderate sedation and critical care drips
• Ability to work rotating start times and all shifts as needed
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency care to patients of all ages, from neonates to geriatrics
• Manage patient ratios of 1:4-5, adapting to acuity and staffing needs
• Perform moderate sedation, lumbar punctures, and telemetry interpretation
• Draw blood, assist with wound care, transport patients, and monitor vital signs
• Deliver care for behavioral health patients in dedicated safe rooms
• Collaborate with physicians, mid-level providers, technicians, and clinical support staff
• Float to other hospital units (Medical-Surgical, Telemetry, ICU) as needed
• Document patient care using Meditech charting system
• Maintain professional appearance with solid color scrubs
