PCU RN Details

• Location: Greensboro, NC 27401
• Facility: 34-bed General Medical Progressive Care Unit (PCU)
• Assignment Type: Locum tenens / Travel Registered Nurse contract
• Start Date: October 7, 2025
• End Date: December 30, 2025
• Duration: 12-week travel nursing assignment
• Shifts: 3x12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend and Holiday Rotation: Required
• Floating: May float between Cone Health campuses as needed
• Patient Ratio: 1:5
• Charting System: Epic EMR
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $1,820 – $1,870 per week

PCU RN Qualifications

• Active and unencumbered RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent PCU, progressive care, or cardiac telemetry RN experience
• Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS (required for travel nurse jobs)
• Proficiency with Epic charting system
• Experience in cardiac telemetry, dysrhythmia management, and rhythm interpretation
• Peripheral line and PICC line care/management skills
• Ability to titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccines required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Willingness to float to other units or campuses as needed
• Charge nurse experience preferred

PCU RN Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients in a PCU setting
• Monitor, interpret, and respond to cardiac rhythms and patient condition changes
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips as ordered
• Provide peripheral and PICC line care, including insertion, maintenance, and troubleshooting
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams (IV therapy, respiratory therapy, physical therapy, pharmacy)
• Document all patient care accurately using Epic EMR
• Float to other hospital units or Cone Health campuses as required
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, infection control, and patient safety standards
