Job Details
Fusion Medical Staffing is seeking a skilled Stepdown RN for a 13-week travel assignment in Providence, Rhode Island. You will provide care to patients transitioning from intensive care to medical-surgical or general inpatient units, with the opportunity to make a positive impact while enjoying competitive pay and supportive team resources.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent experience as a Stepdown RN
- Current Valid RN license in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
- Current ACLS Certification (AHA/ARC)
Preferred Qualifications
- Progressive Care Certified Nurse (PCCN) Certification
- NIHSS Certification
- Other certifications and licenses may be required for this position
Essential Work Functions
- Monitors and interprets cardiac rhythms, vital signs, and telemetry data; responds to abnormalities
- Administers prescribed medications and treatments with focus on cardiac care
- Prepares equipment and assists physician during cardiac-related procedures
- Maintains comfort and safety of telemetry patients
- Observes patient conditions, documents findings, and notifies supervisor or physician as needed
- Responds to life-saving situations per nursing standards and cardiac protocols
- Documents nursing history and physical assessments for telemetry patients
- Initiates patient education plans focusing on cardiac health and risk factors
- Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to ensure comprehensive care
- Maintains patient and client confidentiality
- Performs other duties within the scope of practice
- Follows hospital safety, infection control, and regulatory standards
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to understand written instructions and follow verbal directions; proficiency with PCs
- Physical ability to remain stationary and to move equipment (50-100 lbs), push/pull, and bend
- Positive collaboration with diverse personnel
- Technical/motor skills to assist with procedures and use department equipment
- Mental ability to cope with high-pressure environments and variable schedules
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills
