Job Details

• Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN)
• Location: Indianapolis, IN 46237 (Indiana healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Large Emergency Department (65 beds)
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (7:00pm – 7:00am)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend as needed
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: December 22, 2025
• Dress Code: Navy Blue Scrubs

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Indiana or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department nursing experience in a high-volume ED
• Required certifications: ACLS, PALS, BLS, TNCC, and FH EKG exam
• Ability to float to other units as needed based on clinical skill set
• Strong critical thinking, adaptability, and clinical decision-making skills
• Experience with Epic EMR preferred

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in a busy emergency department setting
• Manage patient ratios: Shock 2:1, Core 4:1, Psych 3:1, Exam 6:1
• Operate clinical equipment including Alaris Pumps, Philips Monitors, and Belmont Rapid Infuser
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using Epic EMR
• Adapt to a fast-paced environment and fluctuating patient volumes
• Float to other hospital units as required
