Travel Nursing Job Details

  • Position: Emergency Room Registered Nurse (ER RN) – Travel Assignment
  • Assignment Type: Travel Nursing / Locum Tenens
  • Location: Goldsboro, NC 27534 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
  • Facility Setting: Emergency Department (ED), 52 beds + 4-bed Behavioral Health Unit
  • Start Date: September 29, 2025
  • End Date: December 22, 2025
  • Duration: 12 weeks
  • Shifts: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
  • Hours per Week: 36
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $1,720 - $1,840 per week
  • Patient Volume: Average 200 patients per day
  • Nurse-to-Patient Ratio: 4:1
  • EMR: Epic EMR required

Job Requirements

  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
  • Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS, and ASLS certifications required
  • Experience with Epic charting system required
  • Proficient IV start skills required
  • Preferred: TNCC, ENPC, and CPI certifications
  • Preferred: Experience in conscious sedation and emergency triage
  • No flu or TDAP exemptions or declinations accepted
  • COVID-19 and flu vaccines required (no exemptions)

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department setting
  • Stabilize trauma and critical care patients; coordinate transfers to Level 1 ED as needed
  • Manage dysrhythmias, central line care, IV vasopressors, CPAP/BiPAP, and ventilated patients
  • Implement isolation precautions and perform emergency triage
  • Float to units with similar or lower acuity as required
  • Participate in on-call rotation (one 12-hour shift per 6-week period)
  • Respond to facility within 1 hour when called back during on-call
  • Work every other weekend and holiday as scheduled
