$60,000 - $75,000 annually ABOUT THE COMPANY: Our client is a well-established and growing company in the Chicagoland area. They are currently seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Staff Accountant to join their dynamic finance team. RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE STAFF ACCOUNTANT: Assist in the preparation of monthly and quarterly financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards. Perform general ledger account reconciliations and assist with month-end and year-end close processes. Prepare and review journal entries, ensuring proper documentation and supporting schedules. Analyze and verify financial transactions, ensuring compliance with company policies and accounting principles. Assist with accounts payable and receivable functions, including the review of invoices, payments, and collections. Participate in budgeting and forecasting processes, providing financial insights and supporting data. Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records in the accounting system. Prepare tax filings, including sales tax and other business-related filings, and assist with audits. Support the accounting team in special projects and continuous improvements in processes and systems. EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. 1-2 years of accounting experience or internships during studies (entry-level candidates are welcome to apply). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, NetSuite) is a plus. Strong attention to detail with a commitment to accuracy. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively. A proactive approach to problem-solving and a desire to contribute to team success.
