Schedule: Full-time; M-F 8:30 – 5:00; 37.5 hours/week
Location: Denver, CO office (on-site daily required)

Position Summary
The Receptionist is a full-time, non-exempt position based in our Denver, CO office. This role is responsible for handling incoming telephone calls, welcoming visitors, and coordinating conference room reservations. Superb organizational skills, the ability to handle a multitude of tasks simultaneously, meeting deadlines, and exercising independent judgment on a daily basis are key.
Starting compensation: At Spencer Fane, compensation is determined based on background and experience. The hourly rate for this position is expected to start between $25.24 and $31.55, depending on skills and experience. We encourage all interested candidates to apply.
Position Responsibilities
- Welcome and attend to clients/guests promptly and courteously, maintaining an upbeat and pleasant attitude.
- Perform administrative duties such as mailings, managing office paperwork, organizing files, reviewing and documenting information for new hires, and updating the receptionist manual as needed.
- Answer and direct incoming and internal calls promptly; communicate with attorneys and clients professionally with discretion and confidentiality.
- Maintain conference room calendars and coordinate with Office Services/Hospitality for meal arrangements.
- Handle credit card reconciliation as needed.
- Accept and log FedEx, UPS, and courier deliveries; retrieve U.S. mail.
- Issue work orders for repairs as needed.
- Assist legal assistants and other staff with projects as assigned.
- Interact positively with attorneys and staff in a fast-paced environment, staying flexible, proactive, resourceful, and efficient.
Qualifications / Skills
- High School Diploma or equivalent preferred; some college is a plus.
- 1-3 years of experience in customer service or receptionist role required.
- Notary certification preferred.
- Experience in a professional business environment preferred; experience in the legal sector is a plus.
- Excellent oral communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills required.
- Friendly, professional demeanor required.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel) required.
- Knowledge of phone systems required.
Physical Requirements
- Typically sedentary; may involve walking or standing for brief periods.
- Occasionally lift 10-20 lbs. required.
- Ability to effectively communicate and perform repetitive motions.
- Ability to read PC screens and print clearly.
