Accounting Manager Job at BMA Group Global in San Juan

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager with a strong background in the manufacturing industry to lead our accounting operations and ensure compliance with financial policies and regulations. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in cost accounting, inventory management, financial reporting, and process improvement within a production environment.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the daily operations of the accounting department, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Lead monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
• Develop and maintain cost accounting systems to monitor production costs, inventory valuation, and variance analysis.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements in compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
• Partner with operations, supply chain, and production teams to provide financial insights that support decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with local tax, regulatory, and corporate reporting requirements.
• Manage external audits and liaise with auditors to ensure smooth audit processes.
• Mentor and supervise a team of accountants, promoting professional growth and efficiency.
• Drive continuous improvement in accounting processes, internal controls, and ERP system utilization.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master’s degree or CPA preferred).
• 5 years of progressive accounting experience.
• Proven experience in the manufacturing sector with strong knowledge of cost accounting and inventory management.
• Solid understanding of GAAP and regulatory compliance.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, or similar) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
