Accounting Manager Job at Matrix Finance and Accounting in Bellevue

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our team on a short-term, 4-week contract. This individual will play a key role in managing day-to-day accounting operations, supporting month-end close activities, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting during a critical period. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and able to step in quickly with minimal ramp-up time.

Base pay range

$50.00/hr - $60.00/hr

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger, and payroll.
• Manage month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of journal entries, reconciliations, and reporting.
• Review financial statements for accuracy and compliance with GAAP.
• Support preparation of management reports and provide financial insights as needed.
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors as required.
• Ensure accounting policies and procedures are followed consistently.
• Provide guidance and oversight to junior accounting staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred).
• 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or manager role.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and month-end close procedures.
• Experience with accounting software (e.g., NetSuite, QuickBooks, Sage, etc.).
• Ability to work independently, adapt quickly, and manage competing priorities.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Duration: 4 weeks (with potential for extension, if needed)
• Schedule: Full-time, 100% onsite
