Patient Care Coordination Associate , your responsibilities will include: Verifying, re-verifying, and authorizing patient insurance coverage and eligibility through computer-based systems. Updating demographic and insurance information. Collecting and posting patient payments, including co-payments and outstanding balances, while managing patient encounter forms efficiently. Addressing patient calls and providing information on procedures and policies, escalating issues to the appropriate personnel when necessary. Identifying priority issues and responding to urgent needs by contacting appropriate medical staff according to established guidelines. Resolving patient inquiries related to appointment scheduling, billing concerns, and prescription refills. Documenting essential patient information in our systems and preparing patient charts for appointments, ensuring all necessary details are included. Maintaining our Telephone Message System (TMS) and ensuring all requests are followed up on promptly. Processing referrals efficiently, ensuring they align with managed care requirements. Educating patients on managed care plans and guiding them through the referral process. Scheduling and coordinating patient visits and medical procedures, keeping patients informed about their appointments. Communicating any changes to scheduling, including new appointments and rescheduling, to all involved parties. Maintaining communication with patients for recall lists and necessary follow-ups. Occasionally notifying medical staff about lab and diagnostic results. Assisting with patient navigation within the clinic and handling necessary administrative documentation. Providing support and guidance to office personnel on administrative policies and procedures. Adhering to health and safety regulations as well as compliance with departmental protocols. Engaging in professional development opportunities through educational programs. Attending meetings and conferences as required. Demonstrating reliable and consistent attendance. Required Qualifications: High School Diploma/GED or higher. 1+ years of customer service experience. 1+ years of experience in general office procedures. 1+ years of experience with Microsoft applications. Preferred Qualifications: 1+ years of experience in a healthcare setting. Familiarity with electronic health records. Experience in a medical office setting and knowledge of CPT/ICD-10 coding. Understanding of medical terminology. Bilingual in Spanish/English is a plus. Essential Skills: Ability to multitask efficiently. Strong communication skills and professionalism on the phone.
