About the Role The VP of Strategic Accounts – Grocery, Mass & Club is accountable for leading Diageo’s largest customer grouping, encompassing 23 national and regional retailers representing approximately $1.3B in RSV. The role is responsible for delivering the Annual Operating Plan (AOP), driving sustained share growth, and ensuring the consistent delivery against all performance commitments.
As the senior commercial leader, the VP cultivates deep customer relationships, inspires and coaches a high-performing team, and sets the standard for executional excellence across the channel. This leader fosters a culture of ownership, speed, agility, and imagination, ensuring Diageo is positioned as the strategic partner of choice while shaping the future of the Grocery, Mass, and Club channel through bold insights, breakthrough programming, and scalable commercial solutions.
Scale & Responsibility
Customer Portfolio: 23 priority customers across Grocery, Mass, and Club
Business Scale: Approximately $1.3B in RSV
Team Leadership: Directly manages 5 Directors and indirectly leads 13 team members
Financial Stewardship: Full accountability for A&P, trade investment, and overhead budgets
Reporting Line: Reports directly to the SVP, Strategic Accounts
Management Responsibility
Lead and inspire a team of Directors and Managers, ensuring clarity of purpose, development, and career growth
Instill a culture of accountability, collaboration, imagination, ownership, speed, and agility
Encourage curiosity and creativity, ensuring the team continuously brings fresh ideas and new possibilities to customers
Serve as the executive voice of Diageo in Grocery, Mass, and Club, aligning Divisions, distributors, and Strategic Accounts behind a unified growth agenda
Role Responsibilities
Customer Engagement: Build and sustain top-to-top relationships with senior leaders across all 23 priority customers, serving as a trusted advisor and shaping joint growth agendas
Market Share Growth: Drive Diageo to outperform the industry across the Grocery, Mass, and Club channel
Execution Excellence: Drive consistency and accountability from strategic planning to in-store execution in service of delivering our performance commitments
Team Leadership & Coaching: Recruit, develop, and retain top-performing talent; provide clear direction and coaching that inspires results
Customer Planning: Lead the semi-annual Customer Business Planning (CBP) process, ensuring customer priorities are tightly aligned with Diageo’s growth ambitions
Category & Insight Leadership: Advance Diageo’s role as the leading category advisor by closely partnering with Category Development, Omni-channel Marketing, and Ecommerce to bring breakthrough insights, foresight, and innovative programs that shape category growth and customer success
Experience / Skills Required
15+ years of Beverage Alcohol experience, with direct customer management experience required
Proven track record of delivering commercial growth, managing P&L, and influencing at the senior levels with customers
Deep understanding of customer marketing, category development, e-commerce, shopper marketing, and insights
Recognized ability to build and lead high-performing teams
Strong commercial and financial acumen with the ability to think strategically, act decisively, and move with agility
Executive presence with the ability to inspire confidence, bring imagination to the forefront, and align stakeholders across internal and external landscapes

Compensation Salary Range: Minimum $191,250 — Maximum $318,750
