This role is field-based, and candidates should live within a reasonable distance from the primary city. Talent will be hired at a level commensurate with experience.
Execute brand strategy and tactics in the field, drive sales performance, effectively manage the assigned territory and targeted accounts, build strong customer relationships, and apply customer needs solving capability to maximize short and long-term sales performance with the patient at the center, operating within AbbVie’s business code of conduct, policies and all applicable laws and regulations.
Responsibilities
Deliver sales performance, brand KPIs, financial targets, marketing objectives, etc., to meet or exceed objectives.
Create pre-call plan objectives and perform post-call evaluation to continuously improve sales performance. Effectively handle objections and gain logical calls to action to close on every sales call.
Proactively and continuously address customer needs, expectations, and challenges to build trusted relationships and achieve win-win agreements between AbbVie and customers.
Develop and execute a call plan that achieves set call metrics and optimizes coverage and frequency to key customers to maximize access and sales opportunities.
Build understanding of customer needs, territory landscape, competitors, and market dynamics; share market intelligence with in-field teams, brand team, and sales management to align and optimize brand strategy.
Differentiate AbbVie\'s value proposition with health providers; identify and maintain disease state experts and speakers/advocates to maximize brand performance.
Travel as required for the role and operate a personal vehicle or company vehicle as needed.
Leading by example and contributing to a collaborative district and matrix-team environment.
Preferred: Track record of sales success in applicable therapeutic areas; pharmaceutical industry experience in physician/account-based selling, training, managed health care, or marketing is a plus; English proficiency in speaking and writing.
Meet HCIR credentialing requirements applicable to facilities and organizations in the assigned territory; maintain good standing or eligibility for credentials.
Valid driver\'s license and ability to pass pre-employment drug screening and meet safe driving requirements.
Qualifications
Bachelor\'s degree in health, sciences, pharmacy, or business-related field preferred, or relevant equivalent industry experience; in lieu of a bachelor\'s degree, at least five (5) years of experience with three (3)+ years in the pharmaceutical/health/science industry preferred; high school diploma/GED required.
In-depth scientific, therapeutic, product, and competitive knowledge; solid business acumen and proficiency with business tools; strong strategic and critical thinking.
Ability to identify customer style/behavior and adapt selling approaches; develop sales strategies based on findings; provide innovative ideas to maximize opportunities.
Ability to operate effectively in a matrix environment and contribute to organizational goals; credible role model and collaborative partner among peers and cross-functional teams.
Willingness to lead and coach others; proven leadership and accountability in roles with increasing responsibility at district, regional, or organizational levels.
Key Stakeholders External: Specialty physicians in the brand area, pharmacists, nurses, and others depending on brand plan.
Internal: In-field team members, Sales Management (DSM), Marketing Management, Training, Customer Excellence, and Brand Plan stakeholders.
