MorningStar Senior Living is seeking a capable leader to oversee a senior living community with a focus on culture, service, and servant leadership. Job Summary
The Executive Director shall lead through vision and values while overseeing all day-to-day operations of the community. This includes leading team member relations, resident and family services and communication, resident well-being, vibrant resident activities, quality assurance, financial management, regulatory compliance, and all other aspects of community operations. Run the operations of the business with strong business acumen across all departments. Recruit, train and hire department managers; oversee performance and inter-department relationships. Be approachable, fair-minded, and communicate with clarity while showing confidence and enthusiasm. Maintain composure during stressful situations and partner with department heads to ensure efficiency and MorningStar standards. Act as a Serving Leader, sharing power and putting the needs of others first to help team members develop and perform at a high level. Lead a sales culture in collaboration with the Sales and Marketing Director. Prepare and submit required reports and represent the community with government and private agencies as needed. Observe activities to ensure compliance with MorningStar standards; engage with staff face-to-face to understand operations. Ensure community readiness, daily presence in Reflections during meals, and support for dining experiences. Ensure compliance with policies related to resident care, human resources, financial control, and maintenance; collaborate to update policies as needed. Accompany surveyors/consultants during inspections and address deficiencies with corrective plans. Evaluate performance and support annual reviews; maintain resident and family communications with confidentiality and dignity. Maintain supplies and equipment; participate in committees; manage community volunteer programs and outreach. Utilize necessary tools such as expense management systems and ensure regular meetings (daily stand-ups, weekly department head meetings, safety meetings, and monthly inter-departmental meetings). Qualifications
Demonstration of MorningStar Core Values: Love, Kindness, Honesty, Goodness, Fairness, Respect. Experience: 3 years Executive Director or related experience in a senior living environment. Financial expense and budget management; human resources oversight; building maintenance and presentation; sales culture facilitation; compliance with clinical requirements and best practices; culinary excellence; resident and family relationship management. Leadership: Serving Leader philosophy; approachable, fair-minded communication; enthusiastic leadership. Education/Credentials: College degree preferred; continuing education as required by state; applicable licensure/certification as required. Subject matter expertise in dementia care, senior care, safety, and leadership in a senior living community. Technology: Proficiency in Microsoft Office and learning new applications; ability to adapt to MorningStar systems. Time management: Ability to handle multiple priorities, weekends/evenings, on-call availability. Benefit eligibility: Full-time staff and certain dependents depending on schedule and hours.
