Reports to: Executive Director of Facilities
Dept./Campus: Facilities, Planning & Construction Wage/Hour Status: Non-Exempt Pay Grade: M25
Duty Days: 261 Date Revised: 02/2021
Primary Purpose:
Responsible for maintaining all keys, files, and records for doors, locks, and associated hardware and to insure safety and security of all district buildings.
Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Valid Texas driver's license (Meet eligibility requirements to drive a district vehicle. Demonstrated mechanical skills Ability to maintain accurate records, databases, and/or files Strong organizational and communication skills Ability to use various hand and power tools Minimum of five years experience as a locksmith Major Responsibilities & Duties: Demonstrate acceptable work habits including teamwork, initiative and dependability. Report to work on time each day. Administer a key-control system for all school buildings. Maintain accurate record of key distribution and locks. Change and rekey locks. Cut keys by machine and by hand. Make impressions of keys and pick locks. Unlock and make replacement keys for all district-owned vehicles. Install, repair, replace or adjust all types of locks, door closures, panic devices, and door hardware. Respond to all lock-related emergency calls. Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as needed basis.
