Specific information regarding this recruitment process is listed below.

Responsibilities

Provide critical administrative, fiscal, and operational support across the Airport Bureau's Administrative, Patrol, and Traffic Bureaus.

Support a workforce of nearly 400—including sworn officers, Police Service Aides (PSAs), professional staff, and ambassadors; maintain continuity with another 1842 Management Assistant.

Manage vendor relationships and coordinate purchases for uniforms, equipment, and specialized police needs.

Monitor vendor performance and resolve service issues promptly.

Collaborate with Accounting and Contracts to manage purchase orders, contracts, and renewals.

Process invoices, track spending, reconcile accounts, and support audits to ensure compliance with City and Department fiscal policies.

Respond to requests from sworn and civilian staff, ensuring timely and accurate processing.

Issue and track uniform and equipment vouchers, maintaining eligibility records.

Coordinate travel and training logistics, including registration, booking, and reimbursements.

Share responsibilities with the other 1842 to maintain databases, manage assets, and ensure operational continuity.

Maintain databases for uniforms, equipment, vehicles, electronics, and other Bureau assets.

Provide responsive customer service, prioritizing urgent operational needs.

Communicate professionally with all Bureau members, including sworn officers, PSAs, professional staff, and ambassadors.

Demonstrate respect for the chain of command and uphold professionalism in all interactions.

Exhibit integrity, accountability, punctuality, and reliability in daily work.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Possession of a Baccalaureate Degree from an accredited college or university; AND

One (1) year full-time equivalent experience performing professional-level administrative duties in areas such as program/office/operations management, budget development and/or administration, development and administration of contractual agreements and/or grants, or other closely related functional areas.

Substitution Additional qualifying experience performing professional-level administrative duties in the listed areas may substitute for the required education on a year-for-year basis. One year (2000 hours) of additional qualifying experience is equivalent to thirty (30) semester units or forty-five (45) quarter units.

Desirable Qualifications

Law enforcement agency experience

Knowledge of MS applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills

Background Investigation Prior to employment with the San Francisco Police Department, a thorough background investigation will be conducted to determine suitability. The investigation may include criminal history, driving records, drug/alcohol screening, and other related records. Candidates may be required to undergo drug/alcohol screening and must clear Department of Justice and FBI fingerprinting. Criminal records will be carefully reviewed; candidates who do not report complete criminal records may be disqualified.
