Serve as a field program manager for a regional team by providing expert technical advice and exercising discretion and independent judgment on matters of industrial safety, fire protection, safety engineering, industrial hygiene, ergonomics, radiological safety, communicable diseases, hearing conservation, safety management systems, emergency planning, OSHA recordkeeping and reporting. Plan and direct occupational safety and health program activities for assigned geographical areas. Mentor and support Safety Specialists, communicate organizational priorities, reinforce deadlines, and assist in unusual situations or where precedents are unclear. Investigate and help resolve safety and occupational health problems across diverse occupational environments including commercial operations and law enforcement contexts. Advise management as a trusted partner on responding to employee allegations of unsafe or unhealthful conditions, OSHA investigations, employee injury investigations, union grievances, and related issues. Qualifications
Individual Occupational Requirement: Experience in or related to safety and occupational health that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position, including managing safety or occupational health program elements and developing policies. Specialized experience for GS-13: At least 1 year at the next lower grade level performing duties such as evaluating hazards, advising management on unsafe or unhealthful conditions, developing mitigation plans, and working with internal and external staff to promote safety and health. Resume must explicitly show how you meet the requirement; volunteer experience is creditable. Meet all qualification requirements including Time-in-Grade by 10/03/2025 as applicable. Education
