Overview
You will serve as a PUBLIC AFFAIRS SPECIALIST in the CNRSW Public Affairs Program of NAVAL BASE VENTURA COUNTY. Duties
You will use web publishing, photo, video, and copy-editing software for public affairs campaigns or projects. You will arrange photo and video graphic opportunities for journalists and other related media professionals. You will attend meetings, briefings, and conferences to align and communicate messages as they are created and implemented. You will prepare written responses to the media and public on public affairs campaign information. Requirements

Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Managing the public affairs program for an installation or program, and/or providing public affairs support to senior leadership; Managing/providing professional guidance, reviews, and/or exercising technical direction in the areas of media relations, community engagement, and public information; Advising on policies and/or procedures designed to stimulate good will and to foster good community relations; Developing and/or coordinating special programs, events, ceremonies with stakeholder engagement and/or news coverage, often under tight deadlines; Advising directors and others directly involved with activity operations on handling problems related to the command’s programs with potential media interest; Writing articles and speeches for the commanding officer; and Preparing and publishing photos, videos and graphics using web site content management systems and social media tools.
