About the Role
The Company is seeking a Chief Medical Officer (CMO) to join its Executive Team. The CMO will be a key leader in the promotion and delivery of high-quality health and behavioral health services within a sustainable budget. This role involves leading and supporting programs that improve the health and quality of care for the populations served, as well as evaluating the quality of care and addressing social determinants of health. The CMO will also be responsible for medical leadership and consultation in various areas, including employee benefit design, and will serve as a liaison to the health and behavioral health care provider community.
Applicants for the CMO position at the company should be licensed to practice medicine in the state of NM or have the ability to obtain a license within 90 days of hire. A minimum of 2 years of related work experience is required, with a preference for candidates holding an MD or DO, board certification in relevant specialties, and an advanced degree. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in clinical medicine, particularly in the areas of adult, pediatrics, family, or internal medicine, and experience in Medicaid or managed care. The CMO must have a working knowledge of various medical and behavioral health care principles, be data-driven, and have proven skills in leadership, management, and collaboration. The role also requires the ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally, and to work with diverse populations in a sensitive and diplomatic manner.
