Alpha fuses AI-powered adaptive tools with expert human instruction to deliver personalized, high-impact literacy experiences. Our approach enables students to make measurable progress faster, without rigid 6-hour schedules or outdated curricula. In this role, you’ll design and implement scalable reading programs across campuses and collaborate with engineers to refine the tools that power our model. What You Will Be Doing

Deliver adaptive reading workshops that develop foundational skills in phonics, comprehension, and fluency Design personalized motivational sessions that boost engagement through gamified literacy milestones Analyze student progress data to refine instruction and surface actionable insights Collaborate with the tech team to evaluate and enhance AI literacy tools based on classroom results Develop scalable content that personalizes reading pathways for diverse learners

Following a rigid scripted curriculum that ignores student needs or data Spending excessive time on traditional lesson planning, grading, or administrative overhead Working in overcrowded classrooms with limited resources Managing behavior all day instead of focusing on reading instruction Teaching in isolation without contributing to program or product development

Literacy Program Coordinator – Key Responsibilities

Develop a scalable, AI-enhanced reading program that enables early elementary students to achieve grade-level proficiency and cultivate a lifelong love of reading.

Basic Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with advanced certification in reading instruction (e.g., Orton-Gillingham, Wilson, or equivalent) At least 2 years of experience delivering small-group reading interventions to early elementary students Skilled at assessing reading levels, grouping students, and designing differentiated instruction without pre-written curricula Proficient with AI/adaptive learning tools and responsive to student behaviors within them Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship Willingness to work on-site at one of our campuses: Orange County, CA; Raleigh, NC; New York City, NY; or Washington, D.C. (Chantilly)

Employment Details

This is a full-time (40 hours per week), long-term position. The position is immediately available and requires entering into an independent contractor agreement with Crossover as a Contractor of Record. Compensation is $60 USD/hour, equivalent to approximately $120,000 USD/year based on 40 hours/week and 50 weeks/year. The payment period is weekly.
