Position Tax Director
Summary I am partnering with one of Chicago's premier full-service public accounting firms and a Top-25 firm nationally. The firm is known for a rich and diverse group of contributors, creating a distinct and thriving culture. This is a key role in helping lead the tax department, managing client relationships, and providing strategic tax planning and compliance services.
Base pay range $180,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr
Responsibilities
Lead and develop the tax department, including client relationships and service delivery.
Provide strategic tax planning and compliance services for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Mentor, motivate, and develop staff; demonstrate strong leadership and management skills.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with emphasis on partnership taxation.
Communicate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels; maintain high-quality work and attention to detail.
Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment with professionalism and integrity.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; Master's degree in taxation or CPA certification preferred.
Minimum of 8-10 years of public accounting experience focused on tax planning and compliance for individuals, businesses, and organizations.
Strong technical expertise in federal, state, and local tax laws and regulations, with emphasis on partnership taxation.
Proven leadership and management skills with the ability to mentor and develop staff.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues at all levels.
Analytical problem-solving abilities with attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work.
