Our client is a dynamic midsize law firm based in Washington, DC, known for its sophisticated intellectual property practice and collaborative culture. The firm represents a diverse portfolio of clients ranging from Fortune 500 companies to innovative startups, with a strong emphasis on high-stakes patent and trademark litigation.
The firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join its growing Intellectual Property group. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in patent litigation, excellent writing and analytical skills, and a passion for complex legal challenges.
Responsibilities
Represent clients in federal court litigation involving patents, trademarks, copyrights, and trade secrets
Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests/responses, and legal memoranda
Conduct depositions, manage expert witnesses, and participate in trial preparation
Collaborate with partners and clients to develop litigation strategies
Stay current on developments in IP law and contribute to thought leadership initiatives
Qualifications
J.D. from an accredited law school
Admission to the DC Bar (or eligibility to waive in)
3–6 years of IP litigation experience, preferably in a law firm setting
Strong academic credentials and writing samples
Technical background (e.g., electrical engineering, computer science, life sciences) is a plus but not required
