Base pay range

Required Qualifications

• One year of recent CNA experience
• Valid CNA registration in compliance with state regulations
• Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements

Summary

A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and collaborates with nurses and healthcare teams to support patients with daily needs, including bathing, dressing, mobility, and monitoring patient conditions.

Essential Work Functions

• Record vital signs such as blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration
• Assist patients with daily living activities (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
• Provide mobility assistance (repositioning, transfers, ambulation)
• Help with feeding and meal assistance for patients with dietary needs or restrictions
• Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
• Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation of patient care and observations
• Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations
• Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice

Required Essential Skills

• Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
• Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
• Ability to read/comprehend written instructions; follow verbal instructions; proficiency in PC skills
• Physical abilities: remain stationary, move about, lift 50-100 lbs, push, pull, and bend
• Interpersonal skills: work effectively with diverse personnel
• Technical/Motor skills: grasp, manipulate, push/pull, and operate department equipment
• Mental requirements: handle frequent public contact; meet deadlines under pressure; work with supervision as needed; adapt to irregular schedules; maintain attention to detail
• Sensory: visual acuity and effective communication
