Coaching - HS Varsity Head Wrestling Coach/Program Director

Oversee the entire Wrestling Program as well as serve as the Varsity Head Wrestling Coach. Develop and train student-athletes to Wrestle. Develop and execute an effective training program. Monitor, motivate, supervise, and mentor student-athletes on and off the Mat. Ensure the safety and well-being of student-athletes. Instruct and guide student-athletes in fundamental skills, strategies, and physical training necessary for them to realize a degree of individual and team success. Foster teamwork, sportsmanship, and skills development. Work cooperatively and in a timely manner, with School Athletic Office and CPS District Athletics Department, in regard to all requests for information that might be periodically required. Check the status of academic eligibility for all prospective student-athletes. Follow District Athletic Department Policy as outlined in Coaches Handbook and meet all criteria as outlined in job description. Job Responsibilities include: Model the behavior expected of our student-athletes including timeliness to games and practices, being positive and enthusiastic, being respectful, and practicing constructive criticism while upholding the disciplines of the program. Accept and profit from constructive criticism and suggestions for improving coaching performance. Participate in clinics and other available programs to improve coaching performance. Show physical vitality for the sport as well as use of good judgement and decision-making. Skills/Essential Functions: Fundraising experience. Have a passion and dedication to motivate and inspire student-athletes. Ability to serve as a positive role model. Demonstrated knowledge of skills associated with this sport. Training/Certifications: Ohio Secondary Teaching Certificate preferred. Evidence of successful past coaching experience at the high school or college level is required. Provide a satisfactory result on a County Police Records Check, State BCII Check, and FBI Fingerprint Background Check. Possess an Ohio Department of Education (ODE) Pupils Activity Permit (PAP).
