Job Title: CVICU Registered Nurse – Travel Nurse Location: Burlingame, California 94010 (San Francisco Peninsula) Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) Assignment Length: 13 weeks (Start: 11/3/2025 – End: 2/2/2026) Nursing Shift: 3 x 12-hour day shifts (07:00 – 19:00), every other weekend required Hours per Week: 36 Patient Population: Adults and geriatrics Unit Size: 24 beds, daily census 16-20 Registered Nurse Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of recent CVICU RN experience Active California RN license (required at time of submission) BLS (AHA), ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (all required) Epic charting experience preferred Travel nursing experience required Ability to float to Surgical/Neurological ICU (SDICU) as needed Available for lab work within 3-5 days of signing Compliance with facility background and return staff policies CVICU Nurse Responsibilities
Provide advanced nursing care to critically ill cardiovascular patients, including post-cardiac surgery and ECMO cases Monitor and manage specialized equipment: CRRT, IABP, Impella, ECMO, pacemaker, Swan-Ganz catheter, EVD, ICP, NICOM, and hemodynamic monitoring Assist with procedures such as arterial line management, chest tube insertion/removal, blood product administration, and ventilator management Interpret arterial blood gases (ABGs) and dysrhythmias; titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips Float to SDICU and care for neurological, surgical, and medical ICU patients as needed Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response Maintain infection prevention and isolation protocols Apply now
