The VP of Development will develop a team that is responsible for all activities related to the maintenance of current donors, cultivation of new donor relationships, and developing a comprehensive development strategy. They will champion the mission and vision of the organization to increase our network of support and ministry reach. Responsibilities

Develop Donor Relations and Fundraising Teams Recruit and develop a team of development specialists, from the ground up, who serve the mission. Cultivate relationships with potential and current donors. Develop a system of donor care to develop and maintain ongoing relationships with supporters. Oversee special events, fundraisers, and the annual fundraising event. Revenue generation through relationship-based fundraising. Consistent communication with all supporters. Develop and execute an annual fundraising plan. Oversee the research, identification, solicitation, and stewardship of potential foundations, churches, and individual donors. Follow all pledges to close and collect funds committed to the organization. Database & Tracking

Develop, shape, and oversee CRM, donor tracking, and manage donor pipeline. Donor Thank You notes and follow-ups. Track all donor communications and touch points in CRM regularly (including meetings, phone calls, text messages, emails, and thank you notes). Team Management

Provide training and support to the Development Team as roles evolve. Report to the CEO/President on donor campaign outcomes and ROI. Manage the fundraising budget. Collaborate with the team on the cultivation of church partnerships. General

Professionally represents the values of the organization through words, actions, and thought leadership. Cultivate an “on fire” Gospel centered ethos that demonstrates the love of Jesus in its everyday interaction with donors and team members. What you bring

The following describes many of the characteristics of the ideal candidate for the VP of Development: Education and Experience

7+ years of experience in non-profit development. Experience in motivating and managing highly talented staff and building a development team to reach maximum impact on donor development. Pre-existing professional relationships with the philanthropic community are a plus. Expert knowledge of trends in philanthropy and major gifts. Faith/Values

Committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord. Must be “on fire” for the gospel and have a strong theological foundation. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Proven track record of building a high-performing development team. Active listener to all constituents, focusing especially on staff and donor needs. Proven ability to interact and influence philanthropic leaders. Ability to tell our story, in print, and in person. Excellent design and presentation skills. Ability to work cross-functionally and cross-culturally with various internal and external constituents. Ability to organize and complete multiple tasks simultaneously with close attention to detail and prioritization to meet deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills. Proficiency in database management, among other computer skills, and CRM experience, as required. Strong understanding of donor management and grant writing. Location & Travel

Highly prefer a person to live in the DFW area. Remote is possible. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally. Leadership Style
