Randstad Digital Americas Job Summary The Senior Instructional Designer will serve as a strategic partner to a Randstad client in the DC area, leading the end-to-end design and development of dynamic learning solutions, with a strong focus on technical system training and organizational change management. This role requires an expert practitioner of adult learning theory to conduct comprehensive training needs analyses, establish clear learning objectives, and execute complex curricula across various modalities. The Senior Designer will be responsible for the full lifecycle of digital content creation, including storyboarding, developing interactive, SCORM-compliant e-Learning modules using tools like Articulate 360 and Captivate, producing and editing video content, and developing supporting end-user communications to ensure successful knowledge transfer and adoption. Responsibilities

Conduct advanced training needs and communications requirements analyses to define instructional strategies, approaches, and curriculum structure for technical system rollouts. Establish measurable learning objectives and apply modern adult learning theories to design instructionally valid, engaging training materials. Lead the creation and execution of comprehensive learning strategies, multi-level curricula, and detailed training plans. Design, develop, and facilitate high-impact technical system training sessions, webinars, and hands-on user workshops. Serve as the lead developer for e-Learning content, including creating detailed storyboards, interactive modules, learning objects, knowledge checks, simulations, and valid assessments. Collaborate effectively with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to translate complex information into diverse course content, including manuals, quick reference guides (QRCs), and job aids. Develop end-user communications, FAQs, video scripts, and produce/edit high-quality video and audio content to support user adoption. Ensure all e-Learning modules are integrated into the Learning Platform (or equivalent LMS, e.g., the Amtrak Learning Platform) with strict adherence to SCORM compliance and best practices. Manage project timelines and deliverables, demonstrating strong time-management skills and the ability to travel as business needs require. Qualifications

Proven expertise in instructional design models (e.g., ADDIE, SAM) and the application of adult learning principles. Expert proficiency with industry-standard e-Learning authoring tools, including Articulate 360 (Storyline and Rise), Camtasia, and Adobe Captivate. Demonstrated ability in video creation, editing, and scriptwriting for both instructional and communications content. Strong understanding of e-Learning platforms, best practices for digital delivery, and technical knowledge of SCORM standards. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including advanced ability to facilitate training sessions and present technical concepts to diverse audiences. Demonstrated success in collaborating with and managing content development alongside Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Strong project management and organizational skills to manage multiple development tracks simultaneously. Location: Washington, Washington, D.C.
