The Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, Section of Cardio-Oncology is seeking an academic non-invasive general cardiologist for a full-time position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. This is a full-time 12-month salaried faculty appointment and carries with it attending staff privileges at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital and affiliated hospitals.
Appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Assistant Professor, or the equivalent. Appointment at the rank of Full Professor requires a minimum of five years of continuing and productive service as an Associate Professor, or the equivalent. Recent fellowship graduates are welcome to apply.
Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution or the highest degree appropriate in the field of specialization with a demonstrated record of achievement in teaching, academic research, and service. Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor. For Associate or Full Professor - Normally will have produced creative work, professional writing or research in refereed and other professional journals, and be a recognized authority in the field of specialization. Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or foreign equivalent required. To perform this position, the candidate will need to obtain and maintain a full un-restricted FL Medical License, maintain credentials in the USF Health faculty practice plan, and be a medical staff member in good standing at the hospitals he/she is assigned to perform clinical duties. Candidates must be board-certified in Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Sciences. Preferred Qualifications:
Fellowship training in cardio-oncology, certification from the International Cardio-Oncology Society or proven interests in cardio-oncology. Applicants with teaching experience with students/residents, experience with administrative organization/leadership of outpatient practices, and/or clinical research/scholarship experience will be most competitive. Level II certification in Echocardiography is preferred. Responsibilities:
Complete clinical obligations such as chart completion, patient follow-up, etc. Participate in inpatient consultations and outpatient care primarily at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute. Participate in Inpatient general cardiology consult service, non-invasive call & coverage, reading EKGs and Stress Tests. Opportunity to participate in Echo Lab and Call & Coverage. Echo reads if certified from a nationally accredited organization. Participate in outpatient clinics for Moffitt Cancer Center and USF Health; to include: Diagnose and treat disorders and diseases of the cardiovascular system. Participate in didactic teaching and mentoring of medical and/or graduate students, residents, and/or post-doctoral fellows. Perform patient exams and order or conduct diagnostic testing. Develop ongoing treatment and disease-management plans. Prescribe medicine and coordinate referrals as necessary. Conduct early-detection screenings. Maintain accurate patient records and charts. Communicate effectively with patients, physicians, staff, and administration.
