Job Description In partnership with H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute, the Division of Cardiovascular Sciences, Section of Cardio-Oncology is seeking an academic non-invasive general cardiologist for a full-time position at the Assistant, Associate or Full Professor rank. This is a 12-month salaried faculty appointment with attending staff privileges at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center, Tampa General Hospital, and affiliated hospitals. The appointment at the rank of Associate Professor requires a minimum of five years of productive service as an Assistant Professor or equivalent. The Full Professor rank requires at least five years of productive service as an Associate Professor or equivalent. Recent fellowship graduates are encouraged to apply.
Responsibilities Administrative Duties:
Complete clinical obligations such as chart completion, patient follow-up, etc.
Clinical Duties:
Participate in inpatient consultations and outpatient care primarily at H. Lee Moffitt Cancer Center & Research Institute.
Engage in inpatient general cardiology consult service, non-invasive call & coverage, reading EKGs and Stress Tests.
Opportunity to participate in Echo Lab and Call & Coverage. Echo reads if certified by a nationally accredited organization.
Participate in outpatient clinics at Moffitt Cancer Center and USF Health, including diagnosing and treating cardiovascular disorders, teaching, and mentoring students, residents, and fellows.
Perform patient exams, order or conduct diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
Prescribe medications, coordinate referrals, conduct screenings, maintain accurate records, and communicate effectively with patients and staff.
Other Duties:
Report to a Chair or appropriate administrator.
Engage in teaching, research, service, and administrative activities.
Provide academic advising and represent the university on committees.
Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:
Doctoral/Medical degree from an accredited institution with a record of achievement in teaching, research, and service.
Meet university criteria for appointment at the desired rank.
For higher ranks, a minimum of five years of productive service in the previous rank is required.
Must hold or be eligible for a full, unrestricted Florida Medical License or equivalent.
Board certification in Internal Medicine/Cardiovascular Sciences.
Preferred Qualifications:
Fellowship training in cardio-oncology, certification from the International Cardio-Oncology Society, or interests in the field.
Experience in teaching, outpatient practice leadership, and clinical research.
Level II certification in Echocardiography preferred.
Expertise in adult non-invasive heart disease assessment, stress testing, ECG interpretation, and ICU consultation experience.
