Managing Director, Capital Formation , you will be a key member of the Leon Capital team and will be integrated into the firm’s RIA and HNW-focused team. This person will source institutional capital for Leon Capital and the firm’s eight investment vehicles spanning real estate, private equity, and credit. You will contribute to structuring new products and fund vehicles to meet investor demand and industry trends, lead capital-structure optimization through strategic partnerships, and build programmatic investor relationships. Sourcing new capital providers and strengthening institutional outreach are critical aspects of this role. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain institutional capital relationships through targeted sourcing and networking, focusing on pension funds, foundations, endowments, and sovereign wealth funds. Understand active sources, markets, decision makers, and capital availability to manage participant engagement. Inform internal teams of current capital markets trends and investor sentiment regarding deals, markets, or macro performance. Administer closings of fund vehicles, onboard investors, and coordinate fund administration. Ensure team adherence to processes (CRM, pipeline development) and regulatory requirements. Communicate underwriting metrics, submarket performance, and future real estate trends to potential partners. Enhance Leon Capital’s brand and investor recognition by attending conferences and, as needed, speaking at events. Qualifications 10+ years of experience implementing formal sales processes and maintaining consistent follow-up with capital prospects. Proven capital-raising success, broad presence in institutional fundraising, and deep network. Ability to devise and execute external marketing strategies targeting investors, including press releases and fund performance updates. Experience leading fund closings and onboarding investors, with coordination of fund administration. Knowledge of the institutional asset management business at the asset and entity levels. Demonstrates inclusive behaviors in support of a culture that values diverse perspectives. Ability to prioritize and multitask in a deadline-driven environment. Bachelor’s degree; CFA and CAIA preferred. Experience in real asset investments/private real estate; active involvement in industry associations (e.g., NMHC, PREA) is a plus. Seniority level
