Department: Psych Acute
Schedule: Mon-Wed 10:30am-7pm; Thurs 8:30am-5; Fri 8am-4:30pm, 8-Hour Shifts

Location: Evanston, IL 60201
Responsibilities
The unit secretary is directly accountable to the manager of behavioral health services. The Behavioral Health Department is responsible for overseeing all front office tasks including greeting, checking in and coordinating any patient/client coming into the clinic. Facilitates the communication needs of the department. Helps with organizing and identifying supplies needed for the department. Prepares and completes each patient/client’s charts for necessary forms on a daily basis. Able to assist all clinical staff for duties involving indirect patient care.
Qualifications
EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING
- High School Diploma or Equivalent or relevant experience required for all new hires, effective April 2014.
- Medical terminology preferred.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for Behavioral Health preferred.
- Patient Rights Education/Competency within 60 days of hire and maintain current as deemed necessary.
- Two years of experience using computers for word processing, database management and spreadsheets preferred; (Microsoft Office, Word, Outlook & Excel preferred).
