Unit Secretary - IV Solution role at Saint Francis Hospital.

Facility: Prime Healthcare St Francis Hospital
Location: Evanston, IL 60201

Responsibilities

  • The Unit Secretary is directly accountable to the Director/Manager, and indirectly to the Charge Nurse and/or House Supervisor.
  • Performs indirect care in the department and facilitates the communication needs of the department.
  • Transcribes physician orders from records (in the absence of CPOE and EMR clinical documentation system) with notation and signature by nursing staff.
  • Prepares and maintains patient records for the unit and orders supplies as needed.
  • Assists nursing staff with duties involving indirect patient care.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, TRAINING

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, or relevant experience required.
  • BLS certification (ARC or AHA) within 30 days and maintain current.
  • Medical terminology preferred.
  • Effective communication and customer service skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office preferred.
  • Previous experience in an acute care setting or physician’s practice preferred.

Pay Transparency

Saint Francis Hospital offers competitive compensation and a comprehensive benefits package. A reasonable compensation estimate for this role is $16.40 per hour to $23.76 per hour. Exact starting compensation will be determined at hire based on factors including skillset, experience, education, credentials, and licensure.
