Job Summary:

• Eastern Washington University is currently seeking self-motivated, independent workers for Custodian 1. Custodial Services maintains a safe, sanitary and clean environment in order to enhance the learning environment on campus.

• The salary for this position is $41,844 (minimum) up to $49,296. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills.

Required Qualifications:

• Valid driver’s license
• Minimum age of 18
• Physical ability to do the job
• High School Diploma or GED
• Must have the ability to learn institutional custodial techniques and requirements
• Must have excellent customer service skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Knowledge of maintenance and operation of various custodial equipment
• Prior professional housekeeping or custodial experience
• Institutional or industrial custodial experience

Job Duties: Use and maintain assigned power equipment and hand tools, buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high pressure washer, high speed buffers and vacuum, broom, mop, squeegee for the cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, furniture, etc.

Conditions of Employment:

• Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or department needs
• The Custodian 1 position can be physically demanding
• Successful candidate must be able to pass a pre-placement physical
