Job Summary Eastern Washington University is currently seeking self-motivated, independent workers for
Custodian 1 . Custodial Services maintains a safe, sanitary and clean environment in order to enhance the learning environment on campus. Duties include sanitation of restrooms, floor and window care, general cleaning of building interiors and surrounding areas, emptying garbage and recycling and arrangement of furniture for campus events. The salary for this position is $41,844 (minimum) up to $49,296. Where the hired candidate will begin within this range is dependent on education, experience, and skills. Conditions of Employment
Workdays and shift times may vary in response to customer needs for special event coverage and/or department needs. Management does retain the right and discretion to modify schedules, building assignments, shifts and/or days for operational purposes. The Custodian 1 position can be physically demanding. Successful candidates must be able to pass a pre-placement physical (EWU pays for the physical). Successful candidate must be able to lift up to 25 pounds on frequent basis and carry up to 50 pounds on an occasional basis. Position include prolonged periods standing and walking. Candidates must have ability to climb stairs. Position includes frequently reaching above shoulders and repeated bending, kneeling, pulling and pushing. This position, during the course of university employment will be involved in the receipt of, or accountability for, university funds or other items of value, as well as the unsupervised access with the developmentally disabled, vulnerable adults or children under the age of 16. The offer of employment is contingent upon successful completion and passing of a background check
prior
to beginning employment. All new employees must comply with
EWU Immunization Policy 602-02
and provide proof of immunity or vaccination to MMR before beginning work at EWU.
