The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing and analyzing the company's financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. Responsibilities
Financial statement preparation – prepare balance sheet account reconciliations and subsequent journal entries related to month-end close General compliance – ensure Curtin adheres to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and other relevant regulations Audit support and tax preparation – assisting with internal and external audits, assisting in the preparation of tax returns, and ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations Budgeting and forecasting – participate in the budgeting process, forecasting future financial performance, and analyzing variances. Process improvement – identify areas for improvement in accounting processes and recommend/implement solutions Communication and collaboration – communicate financial information to various stakeholders, including management, auditors, and regulatory agencies Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field 3-7 years of experience in accounting Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification or public accounting experience strongly preferred Proven ability to foster teamwork in a fast-paced environment Proficiency in accounting software, ERP systems and Microsoft Office Suite Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a strategic mindset Thorough knowledge of general accounting principle and practices Ability to interact with all levels of management Must be able to exercise good judgment and demonstrate strong work ethic Ability to prioritize and multi-task, in a busy office environment Desire to get it right combined with exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Must comply with all work rules, including those that pertain to safety and health What We Offer
