Our client is a large manufacturing company looking to onboard a
Cost Accountant . They are looking for someone to assist them with month-end, journal entries, and analyze inventory valuation. This is a great company to work for with competitive compensation and great incentives/benefits. Responsibilities: Prepare, analyze and report weekly, monthly, quarterly gross margin analysis by product and customer. Assist in month-end closing, prepare journal entries as necessary, analyze inventory valuation, and perform inventory roll forwards. Analyze monthly production efficiencies to standards and KPI’s. Assist in driving, calculating, and partnering with the plant leaders to drive plant productivity across the manufacturing process. Coordinate with IT on system issues, maintenance and development such as production, purchasing, import/export, accounts payable, accounts receivable, import/export IT, receiving, shipping and other. Analyze cost accounting data and assist with cycle count/physical inventories Maintain internal control documentation and test internal controls. Prepare detailed analysis and reconcile sales, cost and inventory accounts by customer type and/or division/SKU. Review and analyze inventory and margin reports, conduct research and perform analytical studies in regards to cost analyses and profitability. Work on special projects as required (capital request forms and others) Support and assist reporting requirements such as audit schedules, tax schedules and others. Ensure timely submission, accuracy and validity of inventory, gross margin schedules to management. Responsible for constructing data accumulation systems for a cost accounting system and developing meaningful/actionable output analysis. Manage the standard costs in the bill of materials, including calculating machine thru-put analytics to assist GM in optimizing capacity. Qualifications: Bachelor Degree in Accounting Industry experience a plus 3-5 years experience Seniority level
