The Marketing and Business Development Assistant will be located in the Chicago, Washington DC, or New York office. Katten offers a hybrid work model, allowing on-site and remote work on a regular basis (KattenFlex). Responsibilities

Provide administrative support on project assignments using Word, Excel and PowerPoint; maintain a working knowledge of marketing technology platforms to assist with projects and initiatives. Assist Department leadership with MBD and practice marketing budget creation and monthly tracking; track budget expenses, obtain approvals, support expense management, and coordinate with Finance for accuracy and timeliness. Assist the Director of Marketing and Business Development with management of the charitable contributions request process, including processing forms, coordinating with Firm leadership, and ensuring required information is provided and payments are completed with Finance. Assist Public Relations and Communications with internal and external communications, directory and award submissions. Assist Business Development and MBD Practice Support teams with basic pitches, brochures, competitive intelligence projects and other marketing or business development tasks. Project manage the internal MBD newsletter focused on driving attorney, practice and firm education and cross-marketing. Enter and track activity in Service Now, the project management platform. Support internal communications by reviewing and circulating daily media highlights and distributing PR opportunities. Create and maintain MBD department reference materials including contact lists, handbooks, organizational charts and intranet pages. Support MBD team meetings with scheduling, agenda distribution and minutes as needed. Assist with activity tracking and reporting for marketing and business development initiatives; prepare and distribute summaries and reports to practice groups and department leadership. Collaborate with the MBD Practice Support team on initiatives to enhance attorney visibility, cross-marketing, and client engagement (e.g., LinkedIn support, event bios). Provide additional administrative support and ad hoc reporting as required. Qualifications and Skills

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint) and a working knowledge of marketing technology platforms. Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills; ability to communicate with courtesy and diplomacy and maintain effective relationships with attorneys, clients, staff, interns, and outside contacts. Strong organizational skills, data collection and analysis; ability to produce reports and maintain files. Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment; proactive troubleshooting and follow-through. Dependable team player who can also work independently and exercise sound judgment. Ability to handle sensitive financial and client information with discretion and confidentiality. Excellent reading, writing, proofreading and formatting skills. Ability to perform basic calculations and process invoices; ability to operate standard office equipment. Ability to lift and distribute marketing materials or office supplies weighing up to 20 pounds on occasion. Salary, Benefits and Diversity

In our Chicago and Washington DC offices, the annualized salary range for this position is $45,000 to $55,000. In our New York office, the annualized salary range is $50,000 to $60,000. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience and other job-related factors permitted by law.
