POSITION SUMMARY : The Quality & Continuous Improvement Leader is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the organization's quality management system and continuous improvement initiatives. This role involves analyzing current processes, identifying opportunities for improvement, and implementing strategies that enhance safety, increase productivity, reduce costs, and ensure superior product/service quality and total customer satisfaction. The leader will champion a culture of continuous learning and adaptation, mentoring teams in quality methodologies and continuous improvement tools. The position also includes direct supervision of the Quality Assurance (QA) laboratory, including oversight of rotating lab technicians. Develop, implement, maintain, and continuously improve the organization's Quality Management System (e.g., ISO 9001, specific industry standards). Ensure compliance with all relevant quality standards, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications. Lead and participate in internal and external quality audits, addressing non-conformances and driving corrective and preventive actions. Establish and maintain quality assurance standards, procedures, and controls. Develop and lead the continuous improvement roadmap and initiatives for the site, aligning with strategic business objectives. Identify, analyze, and prioritize opportunities for process optimization, waste reduction, and efficiency gains using data-driven insights. Lead and facilitate cross-functional projects and Kaizen events to implement lean manufacturing, and other continuous improvement methodologies (e.g., 5S, root cause analysis). Monitor and report on the progress and impact of improvement initiatives, tracking key performance indicators (KPIs) such as cost savings, productivity improvements, defect reduction, and customer satisfaction. Train, mentor, and coach employees at all levels on quality principles, continuous improvement methodologies, and problem-solving techniques. Foster a proactive culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and accountability throughout the organization. Promote a "zero defect" mentality and encourage employee engagement in identifying and implementing improvements. Develop standardized training and tools to ensure consistent application of continuous improvement activities. Collaborate effectively with all departments (e.g., Operations, Engineering, Sales, Supply Chain) to integrate quality and continuous improvement into daily operations. Communicate research, ideas, and opinions to other members of the management team and stakeholders. Present findings, recommendations, and project progress to senior leadership. Build strong relationships with internal and external customers and suppliers to address quality concerns and drive improvements. REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, polymer chemistry, or a related technical field. 3-5 years of progressive experience in quality management, process improvement, or a related field, with demonstrated leadership experience. Strong knowledge and practical application of Lean principles, Six Sigma methodologies, and other continuous improvement tools (e.g., Kaizen, Six Sigma, 5S). Experience with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and relevant standards (e.g., ISO 9001). Excellent leadership, coaching, and mentoring abilities. Excellent written and verbal communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills. The ability to influence and drive changes across all levels of an organization. Highly organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
