Under the general direction of a Senior Transportation Engineer, the incumbent serves as a Transportation Engineer supporting projects and ensuring environmental compliance in the areas of Hazardous Waste, Air Quality, Noise, Vibration and Energy. Appointment to Range D requires a valid Professional Engineering License (Civil) issued by the California Board of Registration for Professional Engineers. For all other ranges, a PE license is not required. Possession of a valid driver’s license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle. Application And Examination

Review the Minimum Qualifications (MQs) and note: if you meet MQs under Pattern II and require the TE Civil in-person written hurdle exam, do not take the TE Civil online exam prior to passing the written hurdle. Position located at 111 Grand Ave., Oakland, CA 94612, Alameda County. This position may be eligible for telework at the Department’s discretion. In-person attendance may be required to meet operational needs. The selected candidate may need to commute to the headquartered location and travel may be required. The Caltrans Transportation Engineer (Civil) Rotation Program is a mandatory 24 to 33 month rotation for eligible permanent, full-time employees. Rotations typically 6–12 months and may occur across state locations. Additional loan opportunities may be required to fulfill staffing needs. Position Details
