Posting for open rank, tenure-track/tenured faculty at the Rutgers Center for NeuroMetabolism (CNM), in collaboration with the Child Health Institute of New Jersey (CHINJ), the Department of Neuroscience and Cell Biology (NCB), and the Rutgers Brain Health Institute (BHI). The CNM is located within the Rutgers Helix complex and aims to lead research at the intersection of neuroscience and metabolism, focusing on obesity, type 2 diabetes, eating disorders, and related inflammatory, vascular, or gastrointestinal diseases. Tenure-track appointments will be made through appropriate departments at RWJMS, with access to graduate training programs and research resources. Doctoral Degree (PhD, MD, or equivalent). For Assistant Professor: evidence of ability to establish an independent, externally funded program is preferred. For Associate/Full Professor: established federally funded program with leadership and collaboration track record. Research focus: neurometabolism, translational neuroscience, gut-brain interactions, or related fields. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated excellence in research with impactful publications. Well-defined research plan for future directions and funding. Proven mentoring success and trainee development. Collaborative, team-oriented research and mentoring approach. Grant funding history appropriate to current rank. Responsibilities and Duties
Develop and maintain a nationally and internationally recognized research program funded by external sources. Foster collaborations with CNM, CHINJ, NCB, Pediatrics, Psychiatry, BHI, and Rutgers health/university community. Engage in mentorship and teaching within Rutgers graduate and medical student programs. Contribute to the academic community through seminars, faculty meetings, mentoring, and institute-wide activities. Adhere to Rutgers compliance standards and maintain knowledge of applicable policies; ensure staff training on compliance procedures; lead in a team environment; experience in a unionized environment is preferred.
