A leading nonprofit dedicated to inspiring curiosity through science and education is seeking an Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations and ensure long-term sustainability.
This role is responsible for managing accounting and reporting functions, budgets, audits, and compliance with nonprofit and regulatory standards. This role is onsite 5 days/week in Fort Lauderdale and will offer up to $80,000 annually.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead day-to-day accounting, including general ledger, payroll, AP/AR, and cash management Prepare timely financial statements and reports for leadership and the Board Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial modeling for initiatives and capital projects Manage grant and contract compliance, reporting, and fund tracking Serve as primary contact for annual audits and IRS filings Supervise accounting staff and collaborate across departments to support operations and programs Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field 5+ years progressive accounting experience, including 2+ years in a supervisory role Knowledge of nonprofit and fund accounting principles Proficiency with accounting software (QuickBooks, Blackbaud, or similar) and advanced Excel Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills This is a hands-on leadership role offering the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a mission-driven organization.
