Cordia Resources is seeking an experienced Interim Controller to provide hands-on financial leadership and operational support during a period of transition. This role will oversee core accounting functions—including accounts payable, accounts receivable, month-end close, and financial reporting—while also contributing to financial planning and analysis (FP&A) activities. The ideal candidate brings nonprofit expertise, strong analytical skills, and a collaborative, solution-oriented mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, including AP, AR, and general ledger management Lead and execute the month-end close process and prepare accurate and timely financial statements Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, fund accounting) Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes Prepare financial reports and dashboards for executive leadership and board presentations Assist with grant reporting, donor reporting, and audit preparation as needed Collaborate cross-functionally with program, development, and administrative teams
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA preferred) Proven experience as a controller or senior finance leader in the nonprofit sector Strong understanding of nonprofit accounting principles and fund accounting Experience with financial planning and analysis, budgeting, and forecasting Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Sage Intacct, or similar) and Excel Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and provide strategic financial insights
