Responsibilities This is a time-limited position. Responsibilities include providing oversight and assistance in the intake, review and response to medical records requests submitted to the agency. Manage staff assigned to respond to medical records requests. Assist the Director of Data Governance in the development and/or revision of program policies, SOPs and training to ensure agency compliance with federal and state medical records laws and regulations. Assist the Director of Data Governance in the development and design of data management applications and systems to improve the agency’s capabilities in leveraging its wealth of data for public health purposes.
What you\'ll need to be Successful
Desire to learn the various state and federal laws and regulations surrounding the management of protected information.
Ability to retain and incorporate laws and regulations covering a multitude of public health subjects (e.g., hospital discharge, communicable disease, environmental health, vital records, medical records, etc.).
Excellent organizational skills for managing multiple tasks/assignments at once.
Self-starter attitude that doesn\'t require micro-management to fulfill the duties of the position.
Ability to interact daily with coworkers from various parts and levels of the agency and with the general public as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires 6-8 years of relevant experience with 4-6 years of medical records experience.
Appointing authority may require certification in any one of the following: RHIA; RHIT; CCA; CCS; CCS-P; CPC; CPC-H; CPC-P.
