Overview

You will serve as a PRECISION MEASUREMENT EQUIPMENT CALIBRATOR in the Calibration Lab, Production Department, and System Components and Calibration Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST. Pay Rates:

WG-10: $36.48 – $42.58/hr; WG-11: $38.68 – $45.12/hr Duties

You will perform testing, calibration, diagnostics repair, and certification of Electronic Measurement Equipment, Electro-Mechanical equipment, and Mechanical Test Systems. You will apply a comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic principles. You will operate electronic principles related to equipment which is integrated with other device and complicated by a variety of multi-component assemblies and devices with intricate functional relationship. You will utilize electronic circuits to measure electronic or electrical quantities to determine the performance characteristics and accuracy of other instruments and equipment. You will judge the impact of repairs on related integrated devices and perform further adjustments and alignments. You will create and execute a complete operation testing program for a system or product for a weapons system or combat system. You will perform all other duties as assigned. Requirements

Must be a US Citizen. Must be determined suitable for federal employment. Must participate in the direct deposit pay program. New employees to the Department of the Navy will be required to successfully pass the E-Verify employment verification check. Within the DoD, appointment of retired military members within 180 days following retirement to a civilian position is subject to 5 U.S.C. 3326. Males born after 12-31-59 must be registered for Selective Service. You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination. You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test is required; you will be subject to random testing. You will be required to wear PPE (helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, respirators, safety shoes) during the shift. This position may require travel to CONUS and OCONUS locations and remote sites. You may frequently lift items weighing up to 50 pounds and occasionally more with assistive support. Duties include: aligning, troubleshooting, testing, inspecting, repairing, calibrating and certifying precision measurement equipment; analyzing and isolating malfunctions; calculating tolerances and performances; interpreting diagrams and schematics; applying tolerance calculations; performing testing, calibration, diagnostics, repair and certification of Electronic Measurement Equipment, Electro-Mechanical Equipment, and Mechanical Test Systems; using precision instruments and standards.
